Published: 2026/10/21 · Updated: 2026/10/21

October 21, 2026: Akane Rin’s banner opens today on the global and Taiwan servers. This guide is based on the version that went live on the CN server on October 15, cross-checked against several post-launch guides. Banner, signature Arc and Arc banner names follow the official October 21 notice. Skill, awakening and material names are English reference names from the 1.4 global client data, as published by fan databases such as NTEBuild; they have not been confirmed in-game yet and will be updated if the in-game names differ.

Akane Rin is a limited S-rank Lakshana character from Phase II of version 1.4, using Liquid Arcs, with the official tag Main DPS. She works as a bartender at the live house StarSign and sings lead for the band The Whoots!!!!, and in combat she attacks from mid to long range with an electric guitar and sound blades. Her standout feature is the passive Perfect Pitch: once your team has triggered Remora a single time, she reapplies Remora automatically every 3 seconds and deals extra damage to enemies that are already under Remora.

Dazzling Star

Global/Taiwan: October 21, 2026 after maintenance to November 11, 05:59 (UTC+8). Her signature Arc, Far Side of the Moon, is in the Celestial Special Arc banner during the same period; maintenance runs 06:00–11:00 (UTC+8). The featured A-rank characters are Haniel, Aurelia and Skia. Mainland China: October 15 to November 5, 05:59. Do not mix the two schedules. Phase II has no limited rerun.

Most guides treat Akane Rin as the main DPS of Remora teams. Lakshana and Cosmos are adjacent and together form Remora, and her passive turns Remora into steady extra damage. Blackbird (Psyche) can form Stain with her and is her most common partner.

Skills and Mechanics

Basic Attack: Stringblade

A four-hit Lakshana combo whose hits build String Energy. The fourth hit, a downward slash, deals the most damage, so avoid cancelling it. She also has the plunge attack Stage Dive, which deals area damage on landing, and the Perfect Counter Featherblade Reverb after a perfect dodge.

String Energy

Akane Rin’s own resource, capped at 30 and built mainly by Basic Attack hits. At 30 she can cast her enhanced skill, Synced Resonance, which spends the 30 points when it hits.

Redirect Skill: Rhythm Wave

Tap and hold create two different field states. They share a cooldown, only one can exist at a time, and casting a new one replaces the old one:

  • Tap: Overtone. Attaches Overtone to the target for 25 seconds. Her Basic Attacks are then relayed to that target from range, with the relay ratio +32.5%. Best against single bosses.
  • Hold: Reverb Field. Opens a Reverb Field for 25 seconds. Her Basic Attacks are relayed once to every enemy inside it, with damage +36%. Best for clearing mobs, especially alongside a character who groups enemies.

Enhanced Skill: Synced Resonance

Can only be cast with 30 String Energy while Overtone or Reverb Field is active: with Overtone it is a heavy single-target hit, with Reverb Field it deals area damage. It has no cooldown of its own, only spends String Energy when it hits, and does not refresh the duration of Overtone or Reverb Field. She is invincible and cannot be interrupted while casting it, so you can use it to avoid attacks.

Ultimate: Sonic Boom

The first part deals multiple hits to enemies in an area and puts her into Solo Cadenza for 20 seconds, which raises her interruption resistance. After 4 seconds she can cast an enhanced second attack. The second part has to be cast manually; if you do not use it before the state ends, it is lost. Early preview data said the second part triggers automatically, but that is not how the live version works.

Support Skill: Altered Chord

When she swaps in, she sweeps the strings again, dealing one hit of Lakshana damage and triggering reactions.

Passive 1: Perfect Pitch

Activates after your team triggers Remora for the first time and lasts until you leave combat:

  • From then on, every 3 seconds Overtone applies Remora to its target, and Reverb Field applies it to every enemy inside.
  • When your team applies Remora again to a target that is already under Remora, it deals extra Lakshana damage equal to 150% ATK, plus 20% for each second of Remora the target has left, up to +160%. It can trigger at most once per second on each target.

In other words, the first Remora has to come from a Cosmos teammate; after that, Akane Rin keeps Remora going by herself.

Passive 2: Starlit Anthem

After she casts her Ultimate, ATK +20% for 20 seconds; triggering it again only refreshes the duration and does not stack. Pre-release data listed it as “own DMG +20% for 25 seconds”; the live version changed it to ATK.

How to Use Perfect Pitch and Remora

Remora is the Lakshana + Cosmos Esper Cycle reaction, and it lowers enemies’ movement and attack speed. Akane Rin is Lakshana herself, so as long as your team has a Cosmos character, a single swap that triggers Remora activates Perfect Pitch. From there the loop is:

  1. A Cosmos ally (for example Esper Zero) puts the enemy under Remora first.
  2. Akane Rin applies Overtone or Reverb Field, and her passive starts reapplying Remora every 3 seconds.
  3. Every time Remora is applied to a target already under Remora, it adds extra Lakshana damage; the longer the target’s Remora has left, the bigger the bonus.

Remora is also the prerequisite for the ternary reaction Charge (Cosmos + Anima + Lakshana). Add an Anima character (for example Iroi), and when the Blossom flowers created by Cosmos + Anima hit an enemy under Remora, Charge triggers and gives your on-field character +10 Ultimate energy.

Awakenings and Resonance

Awakenings can be chosen in any order. Each extra copy adds one slot, up to 6, and a Resonance tier unlocks at 3 and at 6 awakenings. A1, A3 and so on in guides refer to an effect’s position in the list, not the order you obtain it.

AwakeningNameKey effectAdvice
A1After-School TabsWhen Synced Resonance hits, restores HP equal to 1000% of base ATK; DEF +50% and interruption resistance +60% (15 seconds)Survival-oriented
A2Window CapoEnemies affected by Overtone or Reverb Field get Lakshana RES -12%Top priority
A3Shade CapsulesTap Overtone ratio +1000%; Reverb Field radius +30%, and the hold version pulls enemies togetherThird priority
A4Headphone StaticAfter Synced Resonance, Crit DMG +30% (15 seconds)Medium
A5Rehearsal ClickBasic Attack relay ratio rises to 64% with Overtone and 90% with Reverb FieldSecond priority
A6Front-Row SupernovaStarlit Anthem also lets her attacks ignore 16% DEFMedium

A common order is A2 → A2 + A5 → A2 + A3 + A5.

Resonance 3, Diatonic: Basic Attack, Redirect Skill and Ultimate levels +1; String Energy is full when you enter combat; Synced Resonance ratio +800% and the ratio of the Ultimate’s second part +1000%.

Resonance 6, Counterpoint: after casting Synced Resonance, she gets 10 String Energy back and gains 64% Crit DMG for 25 seconds.

Awakening values that circulated before launch (for example A1 Crit Rate +12% or A6 team DMG +10%) come from an older version, and some sites still have not updated them.

Signature Arc and Alternatives

Far Side of the Moon

Akane Rin’s limited S-rank Liquid signature Arc, only available from the Celestial Special Arc banner that runs alongside her banner. Level 80: 570 base ATK and 48% Crit DMG. Its passive, Gravitide, at M1: Crit Rate +15% and Redirect Skill DMG +28%; after she casts her Redirect Skill, Basic Attack DMG +28% and Lakshana DMG +20% for 15 seconds. Some sources list Crit Rate +16% and Lakshana DMG +16%; the in-game text is final.

Alternative Arcs

  • The Last Rose: level 80: 570 ATK and 24% Crit Rate. Casting a Redirect Skill instantly grants 10 stacks of Chaos Thorn, each giving Crit DMG +6%. Akane Rin casts her Redirect Skill every rotation, so she keeps it maxed easily.
  • Fluff of Fleetness: Crit DMG substat; while she is on-field, ATK +5% per second, up to 5 stacks, reset when she swaps out. A good fit for Akane Rin, who stays on-field for long stretches.
  • Youthful Fantasy: ATK substat; only recommended as a stopgap.

Cartridges and Stats

  • Set: Street Boxer. 2 pieces: Lakshana DMG +10%; 4 pieces: Crit Rate +14%, plus another +14% for 20 seconds after your team triggers Remora or Stain. Farm it in the Sculpture Gallery Rabbit Hole in New Herland District.
  • Drive blocks: each Type Ⅲ drive block gives +10% ATK.
  • Cartridge main stat: Crit DMG or Lakshana DMG if you have her signature Arc; without it, prioritize Crit Rate.
  • Substats: Crit Rate ≈ Crit DMG > DMG bonus > ATK%.
  • Skill order: Support Skill comes last. Guides disagree on the order of Basic Attack, Redirect Skill and Ultimate; most level Basic Attack first.

Amounts are the totals for ascension and skills, excluding Arcs. Sites calculate the total Beetle Coin cost differently, so it is not listed here. “Telepathy” is a descriptive reference name for the Rabbit Hole. You can farm the weekly boss and the common materials at any time; prepare the rest with the routes in the material farming guide.

Rotation

  1. Bring in a Cosmos ally first to put enemies under Remora.
  2. Swap to Akane Rin: tap for Overtone against a single target, or hold for Reverb Field against groups.
  3. Build String Energy with Basic Attacks and cast Synced Resonance at 30, then keep attacking.
  4. When her energy is full, cast her Ultimate. Remember to cast the second part manually 4 seconds later, and enjoy Starlit Anthem’s ATK +20%.
  5. When Overtone or Reverb Field is about to run out, recast Rhythm Wave to keep her passive’s automatic Remora going.

Teams and Pull Advice

All-round Remora team: Akane Rin + Blackbird + Esper Zero + Iroi. Esper Zero (Cosmos) triggers the first Remora, Blackbird (Psyche) forms Stain with Akane Rin and strengthens it, and Iroi (Anima) creates Blossom flowers with Cosmos to chain into Charge while also healing. Most guides recommend it, although some hands-on tests found it weaker than expected.

Double-Lakshana Remora team: Akane Rin + Blackbird + Esper Zero + Hathor. Hathor (Lakshana) extends Remora’s duration, which raises Perfect Pitch’s extra damage.

Shinku team: Shinku + Akane Rin + Iroi + Esper Zero. Here Akane Rin is more of a sub-DPS: her automatic Remora every 3 seconds makes Charge more consistent, while Shinku handles the burst. The community jokingly calls her Shinku’s “after-sales support”, but the effect is limited if Shinku has few awakenings.

Mob-clearing team: Akane Rin + Blackbird + Sakiri + Iroi. With no Cosmos character, Perfect Pitch never activates; instead, Sakiri groups enemies so Reverb Field hits all of them at once. Good for the open world and multi-target stages.

Pull advice: the major tier lists had not rated her before the global release, so the following is community opinion. Akane Rin has her complete Remora loop at A0, and she is the biggest upgrade for players who already own Blackbird, Iroi or Shinku. If you have no Cosmos character, at least build the protagonist, Esper Zero. If you want her as your main DPS, pull Far Side of the Moon as well and prioritize A2.

Sources and Verification

Skill effects were cross-checked across multiple guides, and details found in only one source are left out. Awakening, passive and signature Arc values changed between pre-release and launch, and many sites still show the pre-release numbers; this guide uses the version that went live on the CN server, and the in-game text is final.

FAQ

When is Akane Rin available? +

Global/Taiwan: October 21, 2026 after maintenance until November 11, 05:59 (UTC+8). She is the Phase II limited banner of 1.4, Dazzling Star, and her signature Arc, Far Side of the Moon, runs at the same time in the Celestial Special Arc banner. Mainland China opened on October 15 and runs until November 5, 05:59. Do not mix the two schedules.

Does Akane Rin need a Cosmos teammate? +

Yes, if you want her passive Perfect Pitch. It only activates after your team triggers Remora (Lakshana + Cosmos) for the first time, so you need at least one Cosmos character; the easiest one to get is the protagonist, Esper Zero. Without Cosmos she can still deal damage with Overtone and Reverb Field, but she loses the automatic Remora every 3 seconds and its extra damage.

Which Akane Rin awakening should I take first? +

Guides agree on A2 first: it lowers the Lakshana RES of enemies affected by Overtone or Reverb Field by 12%. After that, most recommend A5 and then A3. Awakenings can be chosen in any order.

What should I farm for Akane Rin? +

Ascension uses 86 Charging Knight Spark Plugs from the Headless Rider. Skill materials are Synchronicity of Thought → Resonance of Faith → Heart-Racing Night from Houdinii's Schemes, and the weekly boss material is Good Boy Stamp, dropped by the Anomaly Pilgrimage boss Morphix.
